WebNov 25, 2024 · I used an 8x8 piece of maple hardwood, drilled the 3/8" through-hole for the hold-down bolt, then used a Forstner bit to drill out a 3/4" "seat" halfway into the 1" thick maple. A little sanding of the 3/4" hole then fit the protrusion nicely (it's a bit tapered, 3/4" at the bottom and about 1/8" larger at the top).
